Haulage Manager at Unitrans Tanzania Limited

Unitrans Tanzania Limited has the following exciting opportunity at Kilombero and Kilosa Districts, Morogoro Region where is subcontracted for various agricultural operations to the sugar industry.

We are currently looking for a suitably qualified, and experienced individuals to fill in the following posts The bellow vacancies call for dynamic and qualified proactive individuals with strong background on their professionals.

HAULAGE MANAGER

Job purpose

To manage the haulage operations safely and maintain relations with all role-players in such a manner that strategic, profit and quality targets are achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and organize cane haulage fleets (loading and haulage logistics) and infield working staff.
• Comply with the customer working standards to ensure that, quality of sugar cane and DRD achieved.
• Supervise field operations, control and allocate manpower.
• Provide guidance to employees to meet operation standards.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progressive reports.
• Communicate to customer for volume, quality and operation requirement.
• Maintain strong work relations with employees and customer.
• Plan, Organize and control of resources allocated to the section.
• Carryout inspections to all haulage equipment.
• Manage and control fuel consumption and man hours/man days.
• Communicate to your immediate manager for volume, quality and operational requirement.
• Familiarize yourself with the requirements of OSHA Act and regulations and ensure that the employees comply with it.
• Ensure that the necessary checks on machinery and equipment are carried out by competent persons and their finding are recorded in the register.
• To ensure that no employee is allowed to operate a machinery unless he is adequately trained and authorized.
• To participate in incident and accident investigation, when happen in your workstation.

Required minimum qualifications

• A holder of diploma in Logistics and Transport management
• At least 2 years experience in haulage operations
• Basic knowledge of computer
• Management experience is an added advantage.
