High-lead Urus Operator at New Forests Company

Purpose of the position:

The Urus Operator will be responsible for extracting timbers as directed by site supervisor.

Key Result Areas and accountabilities:

• Planning of the day’s activities with the Supervisor to ensure efficient use of the high lead Urus.
• Compliance with health & safety requirements
• Keeping the high-lead Urus machine clean and in a safe & good working order
• Liaising with the workshop to ensure all routine and emergency maintenance is done timely
• Liaising with the Supervisor and other harvesting staff to ensure activities are synchronised
• Keeping a logbook and usage records on the Urus machine.

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

• Relevant drivers’ license
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Ability to complete the logbook daily.
• Excellent eyesight and hearing
• Proven analytical ability to assess the most effective way to execute a task.
• Basic knowledge of heavy-duty machine mechanical layout and service requirements
