Key Responsibilities;
- Fully aware of the Room Service and other outlets menu, answers questions on menu selections, communicates with the kitchen regarding menu questions and product availability.
- Conduct regular training sessions with the assigned team in line with the departmental SOPs Monitor duty schedules for the respective team
- Ensure the proper appearance and grooming of assigned employees
- Supervising junior team members.
- Support the Supervisor in the smooth running of the section.
- Delivering excellent standards of service in a friendly and professional manner to our guests.
- Familiar with the outlets menu, promotional activities and other relevant issues concerning the outlet and the Lodge
- Assist with training and development of junior team members.
- To assist in the setup of the Lodge before service, ensuring all required items are stocked and ready.
- To seat guests offering them menus, drinks and providing explanations of the menu when required. To deal efficiently and courteously with all guest queries.
- Ensuring the Lodge environment is always maintained and cleaned to a high standard both during and after service
- Delivering consistent, exceptional service in line with the luxury standards.
- Excellent knowledge of hotel menus to be able to offer guidance and make recommendations.
- Keeps concerned departments informed about the guest allergies and food preferences.
- Follow all the guest needs until they are completed to the total guest satisfaction.
- Checks in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
- Serves the guests in a calm, discrete and courteous manner, respecting timing standards.
- Performs all his/her duties with the sense of priority and dedication.
- Hosts and welcomes all guests in a gracious and polite manner, and to have the ability to hold a conversation with the guest in a natural and spontaneous manner.
- Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations of the Company and the Lodge’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- Anticipate guests’ needs by learning their preferences, allergies, dislikes, etc.
- Have a thorough understanding of all spirits,wine and specialty foods in stock.
- Communicate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are cleaned at the most convenient time for guests.
Experience.
- Bachelor degree/Diploma in Food and beverages/Hotel management from the recognized university/college.
- Working experience as Head of Waiter of not less than 4- 5 years in the hotel industry/ in a well recognised hotel or lodge..
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills. Immaculate presentation at all times.
- Excellent knowledge of food and beverage.
- Ability to supervisor more junior team members
- A professional and proactive approach to guest service.
- The ability to work under pressure and to multi task Possess a strong understanding of the high standards that are demanded from a luxury establishment.
- Have a creative mind with a passion and respect for the provenance of food.
- Protocol Communicate fluently in English
- Team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm and teamwork
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Good computer skills, especially in word, excel, email and internet
